Trampoline Mats – Bring Life Back to Your Trampoline
If your trampoline mat is showing signs of wear and tear, you can replace just the mat for 1/5 of the cost of buying a new trampoline. We have put together some information to help you determine if buying a replacement trampoline mat is the right choice for you.
Do I Need a Trampoline Replacement Mat?
Before purchasing a replacement trampoline mat, run through this quick checklist to make sure it is a good fit for your trampolines needs.
The Frame
This is probably the most important element to inspect before considering a replacement mat. Before you jump the gun and buy a replacement mat, make sure the frame is in good shape.
If your frame is showing any signs of weakness or is rusting out, you should consider reaching out to the manufacturer if it is under warranty. If the frame is in good condition, move on and inspect the other elements of the trampoline.
Holes in the Mat
First inspect the mat. If there are rips or tears in the surface, you may need a replacement. If the holes or tears are close to the center or close to the springs, you are putting the jumpers at risk of a more dangerous rip or tear while they are jumping (very bad).
There are patch kits available, but with our experience this is just putting a small band aid on a bigger problem.
Weather Damage
If the mat is very brittle from years of sun and snow exposure, the trampoline may lose some of its bounce.
Not only does this limit the jumpers' bounce, but it poses a greater risk of tearing and causing potential injury. In this case we would recommend buying a replacement trampoline mat.
The Springs
If you have decided that a replacement mat is the way to go, make sure to inspect the springs.
Usually the springs and the mat reach their end around the same time. To save yourself the time and labor of installing the mat and springs at two separate times, just get new springs if they are also in bad shape and install them both at the same time.
The Verdict
If you have gone through the above points and determined that a replacement mat is your best option, you will need to measure your current mat and find the appropriate replacement for your trampoline.
Looking for a Replacement Trampoline Mat?
There are a few key measurements you must take to ensure the trampoline replacement mat will fit your frame and springs. The measurements below are for round trampoline replacement mats.
If you have a rectangle or square trampoline, the same basics apply, except that rectangle trampolines will have two different dimensions for length and width. Always make sure the replacement you choose matches these measurements exactly.
Mat Diameter
Take your current mat's readings with the mat still installed on the trampoline frame. To measure the mat diameter, you should take two different readings, one from top to bottom and one from side to side.
If the two measurements are not the same, you will need to identify any bending or twisting in the frame and see if it is repairable. To accurately measure the trampoline mat, take your reading from end of the mat hem to the other end.
Do not include V-rings, hooks or loops in your measurements. Notate your measurement in inches and move on to the next items.
Number of Springs
This one is very easy to measure: just count the number of springs that go around the trampoline. Replacement trampoline mats come with a certain number of connection loops, so it is very important to make sure your count is perfect.
This makes for a great time to assess the springs' health and determine if they need a replacement as well.
Frame Diameter
To get proper measurements of your trampoline's frame, you must measure across the center diameter from the outside edges of the frame.
Make sure you take your readings for the outside edges of the frame, as measuring on the inside will give you incorrect measurements and potentially cause the replacement mat to not fit properly.
Spring length
If you need to order replacement springs as well, you will need to get your measurements from a spring that is not connected to the trampoline.
Remove one of the springs from the trampoline and measure it from hook end to hook end. If you only measure the coiled area you will get incorrect measurements and the springs will not fit.
Check out this quick video for a better understanding of the measurements listed above.
Trampoline Mat Replacement Options
We have listed a few of the most common and highest rated trampoline replacement mats below. We recommend looking for a replacement mat from the same manufacture of the frame, but this is not necessary, especially if the stock trampoline mat did not hold up to your liking.
The items listed below should point you in the right direction and asset you in getting a perfect fitting replacement mat installed on your trampoline in no time!

If you are looking for a mid-range trampoline replacement mat and are not trying to break the bank, this may be a good option for your needs.
We have seen some bad reviews online about this product and we want to make something very clear. If you purchase the incorrect size or ring configuration, you risk damaging or completely destroying your trampolines frame.
