Rebounder Trampolines – Top 7 Mini Trampolines for Exercising
What is a rebounder?
A rebounder is a smaller trampoline that is primarily used for fitness training, detox and rehabilitation purposes. Rebounders are much smaller than normal trampolines.
These mini trampolines are usually no larger than a few feet wide, about large enough to fit both feet on with a little extra on all sides.
Most rebounders are constructed of a metal frame and have a bunch of springs around the edges. The high number of springs around the edges will keep the bounce consistent as the stress is evenly spread across the springs.
Rebounders are not designed for jumping very high or doing tricks of any sort. If you are looking for a smaller fun trampoline check out our kids trampolines page.

Picking the Perfect Rebounder
Finding the perfect rebounder trampoline can be a bit overwhelming if you do not know what you are looking for. When choosing a rebounder, make sure you find one that fits your intended use. There are a few different ways you can exercise on a rebounder trampoline and certain models are designed for one or the other. We go into a bit more detail in the types of bounce and types of exercise sections below.
Folding
There are some rebounder trampolines that have the ability to fold for storage or transport. These can be convenient if you need to move the trampoline between locations, or if you live in a smaller home and need to keep it out of the way when it is not in use.
We recommend only purchasing a folding trampoline if you need to store or move it on a regular basis. The non-folding versions are a bit sturdier and make less noise when being jumped on.
Weight Limit
Rebounders do have a weight limit so make sure that the max capacity is within your weight for the best jumping experience.
Size
Average rebounder trampolines are between 36 to 40 inches, and are sometimes referred to as mini trampolines. Depending on where you will be using the trampoline, this may be something to take into consideration. You do not want the edges of the trampoline hitting walls or other objects. Having ample space for the rebounder is essential for avoiding damages to the trampoline or injuries to yourself.
Type of Bounce
There are two primary functions for rebounding trampolines: cardio workouts and lymphatic workouts. If you are looking for the detox benefits of the lymphatic type workouts, look for a rebounder with less bounce. Having less bounce will put less stress on your body and not fatigue you as quickly. If you are looking to get cardio benefits from your rebounder, find a model with a lot of bounce.
Just a Few Rebounder Benefits
Improve bone and joint health
Rebounding exercise can help strengthen not only muscles, but also bones, tendons, and ligaments. For individuals with Osteoporosis, the benefits of rebounding can help restore bone density. Our bones actually become stronger when small amounts of pressure are applied in activities like running, rebounding and even walking. The natural forces of gravity put a constant pressure on the bones, but adding the additional force of a rebounder can display amazing results.
Detox and Lymph System Benefits
Our body’s lymphatic system requires active motion for the fluids to pump through our bodies. When you experience long periods of inactivity these fluids do not cycle the toxins out of your system and they start to collect in your lymph nodes. The simple act of jumping on a rebounder for a short amount of time every day is a great way to force your lymphatic system’s juices flowing and force those toxins out of your body.
Reduce Cellulite
Another benefit of rebounding is cellulite reduction. One of the main contributing factors to cellulite formation is a contaminated lymphatic system. Individuals have reported seeing reduction in cellulite in their butt and thighs after just a few months of rebounding. As stated above, rebounding forces the lymphatic system to flow and detox, which assists in the reduction of cellulite in some cases.
Another great benefit of rebounding is weight loss. Rebounding can help with a weight loss regimen if implemented properly. Always consult with your physician before starting any new weight or exercise regimens to ensure your safety and wellbeing. A combination of good diet, rebounding and weight training can produce amazing results.
Boost Immune System
By flushing out the toxins in your lymphatic system, you will improve your immune system and spend less time feeling drained and sick.
Benefit Cardiovascular System
It is well known that cardio exercises are beneficial to your heart health. Using a rebounder for 15 to 20 minute sessions with medium to high intensity will provide a great cardio workout that is fun and easy to complete.
How to Rebound
Always make sure you have ample space to jump; you do not want to be hitting your head or any other part of your body for that matter. Make sure you are on stable ground. Quickly inspect your rebounder for any tears in the jumping mat. Always do a warmup before doing any workouts to ensure you do not pull anything or injure yourself.
Basic Cardio Workouts
Cardio workouts last between 15 to 20 minutes to get full aerobic benefits from the rebounding workout. There are many different exercises you can do such as run in place, jumping jacks, twists, kick, punch and so much more.
Basic Lymph/Detox Workouts
Detox type workouts consist of a graceful but consistent bounce. This will loosen up your lymphatic system and allow you to receive all benefits rebounding provides.
Check out this basic workout video to give you a better idea of what a rebound workout routine looks like.
